Wanted to say thank you Gary (DHGurs) for helping me out this weekend. My roommates car blew up this past week so I convinced him to look into Subarus (not a car guy, couldn't care less). He had 2 simple requirements, 5 speed and sunroof.

After a quick exchange with Gary I knew they had something on the lot that met those requirements (2013 Impreza, dont even know the trim). Headed down there yesterday, took it for a drive, he gave us a number, we went to the bank, handed over a check, handed us the keys and we were on the way. Zero pain, zero hassle, exactly what he wanted.

Honestly, I was impressed at the number of features he got for a price of right around $20k and change out the door.

Cliffs notes: You need buy Subaru? You buy Subaru from Gary.

So, for anybody who hasn't seen my build thread. I have a 2000 Legacy Outback wagon with a modded ej20 out of an 02 wrx. The engine has a few things like worked 05 heads, catless up and down pipes, unequal length header, grimspeed ebcs, Perrin after MAF, and a custom stage 2 tune. So, the swap is done and running great. But now I have clutch issues. I had a brand new stock clutch for the wagon sitting around, so while the engine was out we put the new clutch in. I knew that it wouldn't last to long, but it was what I had. Well, it failed sooner than I expected. It slips when I'm on a hill and I get over 3k. I'm running the origional flywheel as well. What would you guys reccomend I get for a clutch? Should I be looking for one for the outback or for a 2002 wrx? If I get one that's for a wrx what else I have to replace? Flywheel, clutch slave? Keep in mind that I'm on a very limited budget so I can't afford the most expensive stuff out there, but I also can't afford to cheap out and have to do it again in a month.

So I'm driving home from work the other day and my oil light comes on. I quickly get off at the next exit and by the time I get to the bottom of the ramp the light goes back out.

I pull into the nearest gas station and check the oil. It is a little low so I add some (less than a quart).

The light was probably on for less than a minute and hasn't happened since then (1 week/800 miles)

I mention this to the dealer a couple of days later when it is in for the 15k maintenance. He tells me this has been happening with some of the new Imprezas and it is a false indication. Something about the computer getting confused when they change fuses during the initial dealer prep.

They can fix it IF the light is on when I bring it in... takes about 10 minutes.

Has anyone else heard of this or are they giving a line of BS ?

I bought this some years ago for my lowered talon. Used it a handful of times and it's been sitting in my garage ever since because I sold my talon and bought an SUV. I never even took the protective plastic off the landing. In the picture, it just looks a little dusty from sitting in my garage. I don't know what these go for, so $50 bucks sounds fair to me?

Let me know if you want it!

So I finally got a few free minutes to post up a few pictures of my 99 GSX which I have almost finished the Twin Turbo build on. Well it is really never done always a work in progress . I am still working on the staged injection system that will inject methanol using 4 seperate fuel injectors these are in addition to the normal 4 injectors suppling regular pump gas Currently just running on 93 pump gas.
The turbo System is similar to a sequential turbo set up in some ways. Large turbo is a Garrett GT4294R small is a Garrett GT2560R.
Currently making approx 450 HP on pump gas once meth is back on line looking to turn the boost back up to reach 750-800 whp like it was with the old meth set up and single large turbo. The gain with the twins is that I will get boost around 2.5k rpm on the small turbo which is way better down low then was with the 42R would come in around 6k -6.5k

Its a lot better to drive with power below 6k Rpm

Thanks for looking

"Pre-eminence means creativity, not imitation. It means using all the technologies and approaches of the present, not the criteria of the past. In meeting these challenges, the Lexus LS400 stands supreme as the foremost luxury saloon of its generation."

For sale is the car, nay, champion, that started it all for the luxury brand Lexus. The LS400 was the first Lexus, and arguably the best. Back in the 80's, Toyota pumped 1 Billion dollars(!) into the development of the LS. Its job was to put Lexus on the map, and show that the Japanese can produce a luxury car that could rival the luxury heavyweight, BMW and Mercedes. What they produced was the LS400. Powered by the 4.0 L 1UZ-FE V8, the LS400 produced 250hp and 260tq all to the rear wheels, and is good for several hundred thousand miles. Search craiglist, most of the Ls's have way over 200k. Almost none are being parted out because the engine failed.

Now my car, 1991 Lexus LS400.

Mileage: 104,xxx

Color: Light Blue

Interior: Blue/grey

Pros:

Low Mileage, 104k is barely broken in

Lots of receipts/paperwork for work done, all major services are up to date

Clean interior

Leather is in very good condition. Only wear is on the driver seat, look at the attached pictures.

Instrument Panel completely lights up, usually a common problem for LS's.

Runs great

Stops great

Only rust I've seen is a 1 1/1in line on the fender, see pics. Never seen a Maine winter! I've seen it up on a lift, undercarriage is clean.

Sunroof doesnt leak, windows all work, radio sounds great, all lights work.

Currently stickered until the end of the month, then I'll renew it.

Only 3 owners, me, who owned it for a total of 3 months, an older Greek man who it owned for a year, and a spry young lady who bought it brand new when she was 65 and sold it in 2011 when she turned 85.

Engine was clean when I got it, still clean.

Shifts Great

Still have original first aid, everything in it

Same with Lexus tool kit and face towel, never used(!)

Newer front tires.

A/C heat work perfectly.

Ever driven a LS? Has the best steering feel of any car I've driven, its too easy. Parking is a breeze. And its extremely quiet on the road, thanks to, "Some 300 technological innovations to aid smooth operation and silence, including fluid-damped cabin fixtures,vibration-insulating rubber mounts, airflow fairings, and sandwich steel body panels" 0-60 8.5 seconds, not to shabby for a big luxury car, passing on the highway is effortless. Gas mileage is good too, I was getting in the middle 20's around town, and high 20's on the highway. Just drive with lightfoot.

I love the little things in this car: the tilting headrests, little sun visor between the big ones, lights on all the doors, upper leg vent for the air. Amazing. Instrument panel is one of the best I've seen.

Cons:

Valves have a slight tick. Normal for a first gen LS, see here:http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...howtopic=15338 , http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls40...it-normal.html Basically it won't hurt the engine, but it would nice to have it quiet again.

First owner, kept everything clean and kept the car up on maintenance, but wasn't the best driver. Dent on the rear corner, scratches on a few spots, but overall is in good condition. See pics.

Slight wear on the drivers seat bolster, see pics.

Slight vibration when cruising at highway speed, $75 alignment will cure it.

HVAC panel doesnt light up unless it's hot out. Doesnt affect the controls however. Common Ls problem, vendors on ebay can fix it.

Trac light comes every once in a while, doesn't affect anything.

Clear is peeling on the drivers fender, thanks first owner.

JDM!) and they'll love how comfortable the seats are. Mom's; this car is wicked safe and reliable, airbag and all. Your grandparents will be jealous, this car rides so smooth. This isn't a wimpy Smart car, it's a big car that will won't disintegrate when hit. Ride in confidence.
What exactly is needed to make em fit? From what i gather its mainly the fronts that need modding. Im just curious cuz the opportunity to purchase has presented itself

It does have a chunk taken out by the bead.. However with some aluminum tape and bead glue it holds air surprisingly.. Obviously it's not safe for the street but if you're moving a car around, holding up a car, using it as a seat or using it for a discus event it's about as amazing as a STI convertible. While I might also add, having a rim like this will definitely get you noticed by the ladies.

Again this rim is synonymous with free.

This morning on my way to work I noticed an odd feeling in my brake pedal that felt like air in my lines (but only occurs under light braking just before the vehicle comes to a stop). Eventually my ABS light came on and I assumed that my fluid was a little low.

Fasr forward to after work, issue still persists. Checked fluid level and master cylinder, fluid level is fine and no leaks found.

Decided to pull ABS fuse and go for a test drive and the issue is no longer present. What is wrong with my ABS? Sensor, solenoid, ABS module?

Car: 02 WRX wagon
Brakes: STI brembos
Mileage: 104k
Fluid: ATE Super blue

Brembos, rotors and pads were installed less than 10k miles ago with a complete fluid flush.

I'm tempted to delete ABS as opposed to throwing money at parts.
