Curious as to anyone subaru going? or anybody?
there is a street class for 135mph and under... and environment is non-competition, more of experiminets and quest for knowledge. I hope to take the 90hp subaru there one of these years. The class I would be in has a little vw rabbit, etc etc. Do not even need roll cages. Just a helmet by snell m2005 (?) and long sleeved shirt and pants. preregistration is over right now, but one can pay at the gate...and maybe even borrow a helmet. ![]() I would have to be sure the sube does not go past 5500 in fifth gear.. else I break rules. I went to jail over another 90hp subaru doing 115mphin 1997.. I had to let off because the 13 inch tires are terrifying. Anyway, this is the basis for my motivation... limit it right into street class written once and for all. Sounds like a good time, another forum I frequent has recorded 230mph with bikes, and there is a studebaker, electric vehicle, and cross country hobbyists. would love to go this year just for camera shots, but cannot (chores got me last year too...) |

150 needs some extra stuff, but if you are rally caged.. all set.
can show up and pay, but its more money. the landspeed forum makes it sound very casual. that number is really offset, as 150 something is allowed in american rules, but the landspeed rules in a straight line wants a cage... I wondered why it is like that. more danger on the road. ![]() I would love to see a 230mph turbo bike... planes at 230 is large enough to be not so surprising, but a bike and one man hanging on to an aerodynamic shield... holy crap. the temps and the way I know Northwest breeze... wow. someday that place is gonna have a strong record to break. this weekend is a chance for a low in the high 40s on saturday...70s rich cool oxygen in the sun... ![]() |

I could guess inspectors can decipher.. some have been around forever, no bias, just einstiens under the hood.
if I am not mistaken, there is even a straight 8 supercharged (horrifying engine) going for 200 something. a drag strip is a chance to get that mixed up, and man, one does catch holy hell to exceed (I did this in a chevelle- never went back.) Being as lycky as it is to even have someone put together somethinglike this... I 'd go with rules. Heck, even the vw rabbit at 129mph was all caged in.. most likely cuz they bent like dodge omnis with sub 100hp, but hey, they did exceed just for the run. ![]() |

Sounds fun. I know I can hit 150+ with that much room!!! I have hit almost that in a lot less of a stretch. Might have to try to make it up there one of these years

a great place for updates
is bangshift.com in the blogs I was hoping last year to go this year...the welds are serious enough to monitor like a patient in intensive care. I just knew subconsciously there would be a cracker...not much a surprise to find rocker did what it did (I got hit and run last fall) there was some welds that needed last fall to wait for this heat in the summer (I nailed a very sweet spot) tinkering around I found the gas gauge cover in the floor was only held in by one screw by factory, and then found my mystery gas leak at 3/4 and above in the gas gauge cover itself. These are fixed...drilled holes and resealed gauge top with ge2, and painted the oem open wires that sat there for 23 years. ![]() snipped up some pieces for the quadruple rocker panel to be.. and can do that anytime, even in the cool weather coming. (Structure is complete) I put all this in memeber hournal (hehe mispellings) eventually. the member whorenal ![]() I kill me. |
